Especially when it comes straight to your phone -- makes you feel like you're texting. :D

(I'm @ladyerlynne )

I also use it in connection with Magpie to make a little money on the side. ^_^

http://discusscampus.com/questions/514/what-are-some-good-songs-for-studyingWhat are some good songs for studying?Erlynne2010-02-07T22:46:03Z2010-02-17T04:31:38Z

It seems that I live my life according to my playlists. I have music to wake up to, music to fall asleep to. Music to sing to and music to dance to. Music for the snow and mus-- well, you get the picture.

Recently, I realised that I don't have a playlist that will help me focus when I want to study. The silence distracts me, but I end up spending too long trying to find songs to listen to.

Do you have a music playlist for when you need to study or do homework? What songs or artists are on it?

I've just gotten it and oh my god, it's amazing. It can hold more than you can possibly think -- and doesn't hurt at all.

Whenever you have something that is based on competitors upvoting, self-interest gets in the way of actual wisdom brought from the hivemind.

But in any case, it's bringing attention to a very interesting site.

http://discusscampus.com/questions/453/how-do-you-feel-about-powernapping/509#509Answer by Erlynne for How do you feel about powernapping?Erlynne2010-02-07T15:00:17Z2010-02-07T15:00:17Z
I've always heard of 20 minute naps and they seem to work best for me. Have you heard of Everyman?

It's polyphasic sleep with either a 3 hours core nap and + 3 20 minute naps, or a 1.5 hour core + 4-5 20 minute naps. I've done the 3 hr/3 naps and it works really really well. Though you may end up with far too much time on your hands.

I'm doing a three-part-party. Dinner and cake for people who don't want to drink, bar for those who want to drink and are 21+, and a speakeasy thing at my place for people who aren't.

http://discusscampus.com/questions/453/how-do-you-feel-about-powernapping/509#509Comment by ErlynneErlynne2010-02-08T04:00:19Z2010-02-08T04:00:19ZAh, that's fair enough. Personally, I have issues sleeping regularly and getting the requisite 8 hours of sleep. Everyman is just a way for me to be more efficient with my insomnia.
As to the science behind polyphasic sleep, I'll grant you that there hasn't been a lot of non-anecdotal evidence for it. All I know is that, for me, switching to a polyphasic cycle gave me a lot more energy and had me be more productive than monophasic sleep.
The other reason Everyman works well for me is that I interact with people in many different time zones - splitting up sleep is a more convenient option.http://discusscampus.com/questions/514/what-are-some-good-songs-for-studying/517#517Comment by ErlynneErlynne2010-02-08T02:29:39Z2010-02-08T02:29:39ZAh, I forgot about Hans Zimmer! He's amazing. :)http://discusscampus.com/questions/453/how-do-you-feel-about-powernapping/509#509Comment by ErlynneErlynne2010-02-07T22:32:29Z2010-02-07T22:32:29ZThe thing with polyphasic sleep is that it pushes you into REM sleep quicker, so you still get the average 1.5 hours of REM. (Of course, I can only speak for my experience and it worked out very well when I could incorporate naps into my schedule.)
